Happy Easter

We had such a wonderful Easter. I was very excited for Reese to have her first Easter Egg hunt. She actually went to 4 Family Easter Egg hunts and got so much stuff! It seriously was like christmas. She really wasn't interested in the eggs, but loved playing in the grass. We don't have grass at our house yet, so grass is an exciting thing.  Last year at Easter, we were in Michigan with Reese and she had just got out of her isolette. It was an exciting day to go into the NICU and see our baby in just her little crib because she had kept her temp thru the night. The nurse had put a little Easter bonnet on her and she had reached about 3.7 lbs.  It amazes me how quickly a year goes by and how Reese has grown and developed so well. I can't believe how much I love our little girl.
Oh yeah, Reese did like trying to eat the eggs!

Reese decided to swing instead of search for eggs and she loved it. I need to get one of these swings for her.

Easter pictures

Reese and Isla had their Easter pictures taken and I thought they turned out great! Reese was really tired and would not smile so I was very surprised when I saw that Ashley had got at least a couple good photos of her. I was trying to find something for Reese to wear that matched Isla and failed horribly, so I decided to just make her this skirt and now I want one for myself:)

Ashley is so fun and brought these bunnies into the studio and the kids loved them. I felt bad for for this bunny because it is really old and reese kept pulling it's hair out.

This bunny is so big. I thought Reese would be scared of it, but again, she just pulled on it's ears and hair.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!

I can't believe my baby girl is 1 already! Now I understand when people say that "kids grow up fast." I am not sure where this past year has gone, but I have loved every minute we have had with Reese. I still feel like  it was yesterday that I was getting on the plane to Detroit to go meet my baby girl. I remember walking into the NICU and just bawling as I saw my tiny baby girl! She is truly a miracle and I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for blessing us with Reese. No matter what trials come our way, they seem to be trivial because we have our baby girl.  Her growth and development continue to amaze me and I know Heavenly Father's hand is watching over her.
Here are her 12 month stats:
weight: 17lbs 8oz
height: 27.5 inch
Her head circumference was in the 20th percentile
She is learning new things everyday and I am constantly laughing at something she is doing. Reese is such a dare-devil and is not afraid of anything. She was taking a bath the other day and will stick her face into the running water and then put her mouth over the faucet and try to drink the water. In the past month, she has learned to stand with no assistance and she is so proud of herself. She loves to play patty cake and loves to do the actions of  "popcorn popping." She loves go up the stairs and get thrown in the air. She loves to play peek-a-boo and yell really loud. She is very ticklish and has the cutest little laugh. We started playing a game with her blankie, which I think is really funny. I take her blanket and pretend to fall asleep and she will come crawling over and take the blanket back and burrow her head into the blanket and stick her bum in the air. I seriously love being a mom and I feel so blessed to be Reese's mother. She has such sweet spirit and loves people. We were shopping at target the other day and she will wave at everyone and wait for them to wave back at her. This has been the greatest year of our life. So back to her party.....
We had a Pink Party and it was a lot of fun!

Yes, we do have a little princess!!!

Ron always amazes me! He wanted to make Reese her first cake and so he made her a USC cake, which i was very impressed. Then he decided he wanted to make her a duck cake as well. Reese was a champ at eating her cake. She tore the head off the duck and then started eating the beak and destroyed the body.

Reese's gift from her grandparents. She is quite the daredevil. She loves to ride in it and push it everywhere.
Reese loves to give herself kisses. (Yeah, I think she is licking the mirror)
We got this for Reese for her birthday and she loves it. We went on a walk and she was waving at every single person down the block.

photo shoot

I finally got some good pictures of the dresses I have been making and the cutest little models. I thought they turned out great!

Reese's First Sleepover...

Reese had her first sleepover a couple weeks ago and she did really well! This was definitely a girls party.... 7 little cousins and then my sister, mom, and I. We first went to Kangaroo Zoo in Ogden and the girls had a blast. It is just a bunch of blow up toys everywhere so the girls came out a sweaty mess.

I was afraid that Reese wouldn't sleep well because she has only slept in her crib, but around 8:30, she grabbed her blanket and crawled up on my chest and was ready to go to bed. So I put her in the pack n play and she was out for the night. I was the one that couldn't sleep. ( I really like my own bed) Isla woke up a bunch of the girls at 6:00am, so the girls were playing with their flashlights at 6:00am. Reese was a crawling zombie. We don't get up at 6:00 at our house:) Then we had green pancakes, green milk, green grapes, and kiwi's for breakfast (St. Patty's Day.)  Reese was so tired the rest of the day and went to sleep around 5:30pm and woke up at 9:00am. This girl needs her sleep!

Isla & Reese

My sister has had to work on Fridays the past couple of weeks and so we have got to watch Isla lately and it has been so much fun! Reese is loving it! Reese watches Isla like a hawk and tries to do everything that Isla does, which probably attributes to Reese's constant summersaults. They are so cute together and I am always entertained. The night before we were chosen to adopt Reese, we had posted some new pictures of Ron and I holding Isla when she was a baby.  It just so happens that the caseworker in Michigan who's responsibility it was to choose the adoptive couple for Reese, saw the picture of us with a little black baby and felt like Reese belonged to us. Coincidence? I think not!! Both of these precious little girls are supposed to be in our family and have brought us so much joy!
I could see the wheels turning in Reese's head of all that they could accomplish together.
